Project Brief
The new Swansea Arena is a modern entertainment and events venue on the city’s seafront. With space for up to 3,500 people, it hosts concerts, comedy shows, exhibitions and live events throughout the year.

One of the arena’s standout features is its striking exterior, with more than 40,000 LEDs built into the façade to display colourful visuals and images of performers appearing at the venue.
Corsair’s Vortex division was awarded the commercial kitchen project, working alongside ABM Catering for Leisure. The aim was to deliver a hygienic, reliable and efficient kitchen ventilation system that could meet the demands of a busy events venue.
The Solution
We supplied and installed a complete commercial kitchen ventilation system designed for high performance catering environments.
The kitchen canopies feature perforated supply diffusers with disposable filter media, which return clean, filtered air back into the kitchen at a low speed. Induction slots help capture cooking fumes and improve extraction performance.
A powered extract canopy was installed above the large commercial dishwasher. The generous canopy overhang helps contain steam and remove it efficiently from the kitchen.
Gas, water and electrical services are neatly housed within a bespoke Service Distribution Unit (SDU). This creates a cleaner, more hygienic working environment while keeping essential services organised and easy to access.
Extra wide service risers provide space for electrical distribution boards. Quick release removable panels make maintenance faster and simpler.
To complete the installation, the system includes energy efficient recessed LED lighting and integrated ANSUL fire suppression systems.
