The Solution
Vortex designed, manufactured and installed a bespoke extract canopy and extraction system at Bibby Financials new staff canteen in Banbury. The extraction included fire rated ductwork and discharge acoustic louvre.

Bespoke canopy compliant to DW172 – featuring UL listed baffle grease separators, integral grease capture containers, high efficiency LED lighting, fire rated duct conforming to method 3 requirements BS 5588 part 9 and tested to BS 476 part 24.

Vortex designed, manufactured and installed a bespoke extract and supply air canopy at Ole & Steen’s new site in Oxford. The canopy had to be mounted over 2.5m high ovens and incorporate a safe access walkway for the maintenance / cleaning of the associated ductwork / plant.

The Solution
Involvement at the outset was key to the successful conclusion of the project, ensuring that the Vortex Atlantic Ceiling formed an integral part of the structure of the training kitchens. The integrated extraction, fresh air and lighting solution effectively did away with the requirement for a suspended ceiling and all associated costs.
The Atlantic Ceiling’s innovative design of commonly-sized panels for lighting, fresh air, extract and plain tiles provides unique flexibility in the world of ventilated ceilings. Having to reconfigure the cookline and room layout needs no longer to be viewed as a daunting and costly task.
